I have seen the ads for Ride Pass in San Francisco for a while now, and was wondering when Uber will make the option available in Phoenix.
For a one time activation fee of $5.00, I was able to unlock $5.99 flat rate on unlimited uberX rides for 28 days throughout the Phoenix Metro area. Yes, there are some exclusion, trips to and from Sky Harbor Airport are not included. Sigh!
So far, I have had several rides ranging from 5 to 12 miles, and I can say Ride Pass works as advertised. According to Uber, I have saved $44, sweet! And my average ride cost is $7.25, which includes tips. I have 16 days left on my Ride Pass, and I hope to save even more.
The question that begs to be asked, is this here to stay? From the sound of it, it is not and Uber will keep sending email promotions targeting certain customers.
Seriously though, if Ride Pass was a permanent offering, I would consider getting rid of my personal vehicle.
